We got a peek at the first Apple Store in the Middle East

And yes, it was decidedly Apple-y

Ahead of the official opening later this week, Apple held a media preview at its Dubai store and we were on hand to snap a few shots.

Located in the Mall of the Emirates, the store is one of two that Apple will be launching on 29 October - the other being at Yas Mall in Abu Dhabi - making it the first time since the original two Apple Stores that the company has simultaneously launched two retail outlets in the same country.

Speaking at the briefing, Apple's head of retail for Europe and the Middle East Wendy Beckman was tight lipped about the official size of the store, although we did note that it definitely wasn't anywhere close to being "the biggest in the world" as previous rumours would have suggested.

Beckman revealed that there are a combined staff of 150 employees across both stores from 30 nationalities, speaking up to 40 languages, and that a number of them have been brought over from Europe and the US.

One interesting thing we noted was the Genius Bar (where one can get help with all their Apple product woes) was located in the centre of the store surrounded but some rather impressive foliage, rather than being relgated to the back of the store like in many of their other locations.

For those hungry to get their hands on the new Apple TV (which launched today) it looks like you'll have to stick to Apple's online store to satiate your streaming media fix as we didn't peep any of the new units in the store, although we expect them to be available sooner rather than later.
