Siri on the iPhone 6s will be constantly listening for your commands

"Hey Siri, remind me to get out out of bed and do something with my life today"

We are literally hours away from the launch of the iPhone 6s, and yet the Apple rumour mill refuses to take a break.

The latest morsel of speculation to out itself ahead of the launch comes courtesy of 9 to 5 Mac, who states that the iPhone 6s will be blessed with the powers of an always-on Siri.

Currently the iPhone 6 supports this function only when it’s charging, to negate the battery drain associated with a device that’s always listening for an activation phrase.

The iPhone 6s is however reportedly thicker than the current generation, suggesting a larger battery, which hopefully means equal or better battery life, despite this new feature.

If true, it means that Google Now will lose its exclusive party trick, and we’ll get to be lazier than ever by not having to hold down a button for a few seconds.

It all certainly seems to match up with Apple’s official “Hey Siri, give us a hint” invitation, so we’re filing this in the ‘definitely maybe’ folder for now.
