LG and Huawei both believed to have their own Nexus device in the works

LG and Huawei are rumoured to be working separately on their own Google Nexus smartphones, with both possibly debuting this year.

LG’s Nexus, codenamed the Angler, is said to be installed with a 2,700mAh battery and a 5.2in display. As for the chipset however, it has not been decided yet but sources say that LG is looking at using the Qualcomm Snapdragon 808 that is currently installed in the LG G4.

Huawei, with its project codenamed Bullhead, seems to be going for a 5.7in device, likely running a Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 chipset and powered by a 3,500mAh battery. Its form factor will apparently be a more streamlined, easier to hold alternative to the Nexus 6.

Will the Nexus 9 still be incoming? Google is apparently not giving up on that, though it’s likely only to arrive in the next product cycle.

With Google I/O kicking off later this week, and the possibility of Android M being unveiled to the public, there’s a small chance that these phones will be revealed very soon. Our gut feeling is that Google will hold off the launch until a later date, but you never know: this time next week, two new Nexuses might be out there in the world.
