If you squint, you can just about make out the leaked Sony Xperia Z5+

Meet the third potentially IFA-bound handset from the Japanese tech giant

The Sony Xperia Z5 and Z5 Compact don’t officially exist (though they have been rumoured), but that hasn’t stopped shots of the Z5+ from cropping up online.

Shown off in a screenshot which appears to have around five pixels in total, the Z5+ is instantly recognisable as an Xperia device, with its straight edges, rounded corners, and minimalist features.

A side-mounted power button/fingerprint scanner (which has appeared in the Z5 and Z5 Compact leaks) is just about visible, and a new chrome colour also looks set to be on the cards.

Past outings of the Z5+’s user agent profile have pointed to a 4K display and a Snapdragon 810 processor.

Having said that, the Galaxy Note 5 was also rumoured to arrive with an insanely pixel-packed 4K display and, well, it didn’t, so colour us very skeptical.

We’ve interviewed various Sony heads before, and all of them have stressed that they don’t believe in inflating specs and numbers for the sake of it, so being the first handset to land with a 4K screen seems like an uncharacteristic move to us.

Sony could reveal all three handsets at IFA in Berlin in September. If it does, we’ll be sure to wrap our hands around each and every handset to gather some first impressions.
