Magallen’s two new entry-level RoadMate sat-navs are the ultimate in no frills navigation.
Just £100 of your hard-earned will bag you a 1200 (pictured) which comes pre-loaded with maps for one region of your choice (we imagine you’ll want the UK and Ireland) a 3.5in QVGA touchscreen and SmartDetour, which automatically gives you a nudge to use another route if you twiddle your thumbs sitting in slow moving traffic for too long.
It’s certainly no oil painting and won’t be winning any design awards but a few thousand points of interest and 2D or 3D map views should have you at your final destination without so much as a missed turn.
Its identical twin brother, the 1215, offers that little bit more with maps for the whole of Western Europe but both arrive in shops, budget tyres squealing, in mid November.
