LG Optimus G Pro with 1080p display and massive battery incoming

Just when you thought your next smartphone purchase was going to be easy, LG throws its heavyweight contender into the mix

LG appears to have a smartphone of formidable power - the Optimus G Pro - hidden up its sleeves according to a leaked slide from Engadget, which matches up with specs from Japanese site Blog of Mobile.

The LG Optimus G Pro will be a successor to the LG Optimus G and will feature 2012's biggest mobile trend in the form of a 5in 1080p screen, joining the likes of the Sony Xperia Z, Huawei Ascend D2 and HTC Droid DNA.

Not only that but it'll be powered by a Qualcomm 1.7GHz quad-core Snapdragon processor, 2GB of RAM, 32GB of storage, an Xperia Z-matching 13MP camera and best of all, a humungous 3,000mAh battery.

Current information suggests that the LG Optimus G Pro will be launching in Japan, though we'd bet our left-click fingers that we'll be seeing the Optimus G Pro at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona next month, so stay tuned.
