These features are already available to all US-based users.</p> <p><strong>[Source: <a href="http://www.computerandvideogames.com/456841/xbox-one-update-brings-oneguide-universal-remote-to-smartglass/?">CVG</a>]</strong></p> <p><strong>READ MORE: <a href="http://www.stuff.tv/microsoft/microsoft-xbox-one/review">Microsoft Xbox One review</a></strong></p> </div> </div> </div> <div class="field field-type-filefield field-field-image"> <div class="field-label">Image #1:&nbsp;</div> <div class="field-items"> <div class="field-item odd"> <img class="imagefield imagefield-field_image" width="940" height="705" title="The Xbox One&#039;s TV skills are about to get a boost" alt="Xbox One" src="http://images.cdn.stuff.tv/sites/stuff.tv/files/xbox%20one_0.JPG?1396420381" /> </div> </div> </div> <div class="field field-type-number-integer field-field-make-full-width"> <div class="field-label">Make full width:&nbsp;</div> <div class="field-items"> <div class="field-item odd"> Do not make full width </div> </div> </div> </fieldset> </fieldset> Lenovo Wearable tech Xbox One Tue, 01 Apr 2014 19:37:20 +0000 Sam Kieldsen 1434666 at http://www.stuff.tv Video: Lenovo Yoga Tablet 10 – multimode marvel or boring budget tab? http://www.stuff.tv/lenovo/video-lenovo-yoga-tablet-10-multimode-marvel-or-boring-budget-tab/video <div class="field field-type-text field-field-standfirst"> <div class="field-items"> <div class="field-item odd"> Does the Yoga Tablet 10’s triple threat design have what it takes to take on the very best Android tabs? </div> </div> </div> <div class="field field-type-filefield field-field-main-image"> <div class="field-items"> <div class="field-item odd"> <img class="imagefield imagefield-field_main_image" width="1200" height="900" title="Video: Lenovo Yoga Tablet 10 – multimode marvel or boring budget tab?" alt="Video: Lenovo Yoga Tablet 10 – multimode marvel or boring budget tab?" src="http://images.cdn.stuff.tv/sites/stuff.tv/files/images/news/Screen%20Shot%202014-03-07%20at%2018.06.00.png?1394244839" /> </div> </div> </div> <div class="field field-type-hcmvideofield-video field-field-brightcove-video"> <div class="field-items"> <div class="field-item odd"> <div class="video-wrapper brightcove-player-wrapper"> <script language="JavaScript" type="text/javascript" src="http://admin.brightcove.com/js/BrightcoveExperiences.js"></script> <script src="http://admin.brightcove.com/js/APIModules_all.js"></script> <div class="brightcove-player"> <object id="myExperience-3308499527001" class="BrightcoveExperience"> <param name="bgcolor" value="#000000" /> <param name="playerID" value="" /> <param name="playerKey" value="AQ~~,AAAAEgPmGlk~,Fzd-TvXcznw-P3piHaryQBMeIzWITldz" /> <param name="isVid" value="true" /> <param name="isUI" value="true" /> <param name="dynamicStreaming" value="true" /> <param name="@videoPlayer" value="3308499527001" /> <param name="autoStart" value="" /> <param name="htmlFallback" value="true" /> <param name="includeAPI" value="true" /> <param name="templateLoadHandler" value="brightcoveTemplateLoaded" /> <param name="width" value="640px" /> <param name="height" value="360px" /> </object> <!-- This script tag will cause the Brightcove Players defined above it to be created as soon as the line is read by the browser. Its performance and screen? Less so.</p> <fieldset class="content-multigroup-group-sections"><legend>News Section</legend><fieldset class="content-multigroup-wrapper content-multigroup-0"><div class="field field-type-number-integer field-field-section-paginate"> <div class="field-label">Paginate on this section:&nbsp;</div> <div class="field-items"> <div class="field-item odd"> Don't paginate </div> </div> </div> <div class="field field-type-text field-field-title"> <div class="field-label">Title:&nbsp;</div> <div class="field-items"> <div class="field-item odd"> Your flexible friend </div> </div> </div> <div class="field field-type-text field-field-body"> <div class="field-label">Body:&nbsp;</div> <div class="field-items"> <div class="field-item odd"> <p>While the design itself hasn&#39;t changed much from last year&#39;s model, it remains the most interesting thing about the Yoga Tablet 10 HD+. Unlike every other identikit slate, it has a cylindrical protruberance at its base which gives it its flexible nature: grip it in &#39;Hold&#39; mode or flip out the kickstand and use it in &#39;Tilt&#39; or &#39;Stand&#39; mode.&nbsp;</p> <p>It&#39;s a great idea that we loved when we tested the first model, and with the kickstand being made longer so that it now stands the tablet upright at a more useful angle, it promises to be even better on the HD+.&nbsp;</p> <p>Bigger changes are afoot elsewhere. For starters, the screen gets a major spec bump - it&#39;s now a full HD 1920x1200 effort with a decent 224ppi, whereas the last version was only 1280x800. In fact, pretty much everything else about the Yoga is now better than before. The processor is now a Snapdragon 400 running at 1.6GHz, RAM has been doubled to 2GB and there&#39;s now an 8MP camera round the back.</p> <p>One thing we hope hasn&#39;t changed about the Yoga is its battery life. The first model could supposedly last for 18 hours, and as the HD+ has the same 9000mAh cell inside it, we&#39;d hope for the same here.</p> <p>It&#39;ll be available from April priced at &pound;300 for the Wi-Fi version and &pound;330 for the 3G model and we&#39;ll hopefully be testing it soon.</p> <p><strong>READ MORE: <a href="http://www.stuff.tv/htc/mwc-2014/mwc-2014-biggest-stories-so-far/feature" target="_blank">Mobile World Congress 2014 &ndash; the biggest MWC smartphone news so far</a></strong></p> <p>&nbsp;</p> </div> </div> </div> <div class="field field-type-hcmvideofield-video field-field-brightcove-video"> <div class="field-label">Video ID/URL:&nbsp;</div> <div class="field-items"> <div class="field-item odd"> <div class="messages warning">This video is not currently supported.</div> </div> </div> </div> <div class="field field-type-filefield field-field-image"> <div class="field-label">Image #1:&nbsp;</div> <div class="field-items"> <div class="field-item odd"> <img class="imagefield imagefield-field_image" width="1200" height="900" title="Lenovo Yoga Tablet 10 HD+" alt="Lenovo Yoga Tablet 10 HD+ tablet" src="http://images.cdn.stuff.tv/sites/stuff.tv/files/lenovo-yoga-tablet-10-HD-tablet-002.jpg?1393295311" /> </div> </div> </div> <div class="field field-type-text field-field-box-out-title"> <div class="field-label">Box Out Title:&nbsp;</div> <div class="field-items"> <div class="field-item odd"> Bloatware without the bloat? </div> </div> </div> <div class="field field-type-text field-field-box-out-body-text"> <div class="field-label">Box Out Body Text:&nbsp;</div> <div class="field-items"> <div class="field-item odd"> <p>We&#39;re not big fans of manufactures stuffing their tablets with apps that you&#39;ll never use, but the Yoga 10 HD+ has a couple that sound quite useful.</p> <p>First there&#39;s SHAREit, which will enable users to fling images, videos, documents and even apps to other tablets and phones wirelessly at up to 40x faster than Bluetooth.&nbsp;Then there&#39;s SYNCit &ndash; for your backup needs &ndash; SECUREit &ndash; that&#39;s your virus protection and so on &ndash; and SNAPit, which gives the tablet&#39;s camera the usual panoramas, filters and creative modes.</p> <p>Will they be better than those you could download from the Play Store? And that nicely cushy power button built into one end of the cylindrical bottom is a nice touch that makes the best of its design.</p> <p><strong><a href="http://www.stuff.tv/android/lenovo-yoga-tablet-10/gallery?viewid=110129" target="_blank">CLICK HERE TO SEE OUR FULL LENOVO YOGA TABLET 10 GALLERY</a></strong></p> <p>Tucked away at the back of its cylindrical bottom is a built-in kickstand - a handy feature that could save you the money you might otherwise spend on a stand-integrated cover. The latter is probably the wiser choice, but as the barrel is completely smooth it can still prove rather tricky. That cylindrical bottom makes a world of difference when you&#39;re holding it, providing a better grip than the thin edge of the usual tablet. Again, some texturing would make for an even steadier grip, but the size of it is just right and it feels very natural in the hand.</p> <p>In stand mode you&rsquo;ll have to mind how hard you tap the screen as the narrow kickstand doesn&#39;t provide a very stable lean-on. We managed to knock it over a couple of times in our furious email typing.</p> <p>While tilt mode largely solves that problem, it also puts the tablet at a non-adjustable height. So like it or not, you&rsquo;ll have to make do with it. There&rsquo;s also the small niggling problem of the Lenovo logo being upside down, which could pre-empt a panic attack in the obsessive-compulsive.</p> <p><strong>READ MORE:&nbsp;<a href="http://www.stuff.tv/tablets/top-ten" target="_blank">The 10 Best Tablets in the World right now</a></strong></p> </div> </div> </div> <div class="field field-type-filefield field-field-image"> <div class="field-label">Image #1:&nbsp;</div> <div class="field-items"> <div class="field-item odd"> <img class="imagefield imagefield-field_image" width="3039" height="2278" title="Lenovo Yoga Tablet 10 in hold mode" alt="Lenovo Yoga Tablet 10 in hold mode" src="http://images.cdn.stuff.tv/sites/stuff.tv/files/holdmode1_0.jpg?1395311455" /> </div> </div> </div> <div class="field field-type-filefield field-field-image-2"> <div class="field-label">Image #2:&nbsp;</div> <div class="field-items"> <div class="field-item odd"> <img class="imagefield imagefield-field_image_2" width="3029" height="2271" title="Lenovo Yoga Tablet 10 in stand mode" alt="Lenovo Yoga Tablet 10 in stand mode" src="http://images.cdn.stuff.tv/sites/stuff.tv/files/standmode_0.jpg?1395311455" /> </div> </div> </div> <div class="field field-type-filefield field-field-image-3"> <div class="field-label">Image #3:&nbsp;</div> <div class="field-items"> <div class="field-item odd"> <img class="imagefield imagefield-field_image_3" width="2980" height="2233" title="Lenovo Yoga Tablet 10 in tilt mode" alt="Lenovo Yoga Tablet 10 in tilt mode" src="http://images.cdn.stuff.tv/sites/stuff.tv/files/tiltmode%20%281%29.jpg?1395311455" /> </div> </div> </div> <div class="field field-type-number-integer field-field-make-full-width"> <div class="field-label">Make full width:&nbsp;</div> <div class="field-items"> <div class="field-item odd"> Do not make full width </div> </div> </div> </fieldset> <fieldset class="content-multigroup-wrapper content-multigroup-2"><div class="field field-type-number-integer field-field-section-paginate"> <div class="field-label">Paginate on this section:&nbsp;</div> <div class="field-items"> <div class="field-item odd"> Don't paginate </div> </div> </div> <div class="field field-type-text field-field-title"> <div class="field-label">Title:&nbsp;</div> <div class="field-items"> <div class="field-item odd"> Display: HD, but only just </div> </div> </div> <div class="field field-type-text field-field-body"> <div class="field-label">Body:&nbsp;</div> <div class="field-items"> <div class="field-item odd"> <p>The Yoga Tablet 10 spreads its 1280 x 800 resolution over a considerable 10.1in of multi-touch viewing space, and while it offically meets the requirements for high definition, the viewing experience falls a fair way short of the best tabs in town.</p> <p>When spread across 10.1in of screen space, that resolution equates to a distinctly unspectacular 149 pixels per inch, making it one of the smudgier displays around, especially when compared to the (admittedly far more expensive)&nbsp;<a href="http://www.stuff.tv/my/apple/apple-ipad-5/review" target="_blank">iPad Air&rsquo;s</a>&nbsp;264 ppi or the&nbsp;<a href="http://www.stuff.tv/my/google/google-nexus-10/review" target="_blank">Nexus 10&rsquo;s</a>&nbsp;301 ppi. The Lenovo Yoga Tablet is barely thicker than its microUSB port and gently tapers off into a cylinder at its bottom, where most of its weight is distributed.</p> <p>The upshot of this quirky design is that it's more comfortable to hold in one hand. Lenovo calls this basic act 'Hold Mode', and there are two other configurations too – 'Tilt Mode'and 'Stand Mode', and they're both possible thanks to a built-in kickstand which folds out from the rear of the cylinder.</p> <p>&nbsp;The kickstand itself is excellent. It's sturdy, solid, strong and importantly, very stiff. This means that you can change the angle of it and leave it on a table, confident in its ability to support the tablet without crumpling shut and ending up in a face-plant.</p> <p>The rest of the Yoga is equally sturdy.&nbsp;The&nbsp;solid kickstand is crafted from metal, and though the pleasantly textured laser-etched plastic back is&nbsp;plastic, it's a lot more premium a tablet than you'd expect to get for £200 and it doesn't feel cheap in the hands.<br />It's got a satisfyingly deep power button embedded into one end of its cylindrical base and a headphone port sunk into the other end, with sturdy volume buttons to boot. So what's the catch?&nbsp;</p> </div> </div> </div> <div class="field field-type-hcmvideofield-video field-field-brightcove-video"> <div class="field-label">Video ID/URL:&nbsp;</div> <div class="field-items"> <div class="field-item odd"> <div class="messages warning">This video is not currently supported.</div> </div> </div> </div> <div class="field field-type-filefield field-field-image"> <div class="field-label">Image #1:&nbsp;</div> <div class="field-items"> <div class="field-item odd"> <img class="imagefield imagefield-field_image" width="1200" height="900" title="Lenovo Yoga Tablet hands-on review: kickng up a fuss" alt="Lenovo Yoga Tablet hands-on review: kickng up a fuss" src="http://images.cdn.stuff.tv/sites/stuff.tv/files/CAM00094.jpg?1383217814" /> </div> </div> </div> <div class="field field-type-number-integer field-field-make-full-width"> <div class="field-label">Make full width:&nbsp;</div> <div class="field-items"> <div class="field-item odd"> Do not make full width </div> </div> </div> </fieldset> <fieldset class="content-multigroup-wrapper content-multigroup-1"><div class="field field-type-number-integer field-field-section-paginate"> <div class="field-label">Paginate on this section:&nbsp;</div> <div class="field-items"> <div class="field-item odd"> Don't paginate </div> </div> </div> <div class="field field-type-text field-field-title"> <div class="field-label">Title:&nbsp;</div> <div class="field-items"> <div class="field-item odd"> Screen woes </div> </div> </div> <div class="field field-type-text field-field-body"> <div class="field-label">Body:&nbsp;</div> <div class="field-items"> <div class="field-item odd"> <p>Both Yoga models have a 1200x800 resolution display, and you can really tell. So, like its predecessor, the Yoga G Pro can be used in laptop mode with the screen flipped all the way around as a hefty tablet, or in tent/stand modes for presentations.</p> <p>One of our problems in our <a href="http://www.stuff.tv/ideapad-yoga/lenovo-ideapad-yoga-hands-review/news">test of the original Yoga</a> is that you can still feel the keys underneath – and that hasn't changed on this model. On the business-friendly ThinkPad Yoga, though, the keys lift up and flatten out. We're not sure why Lenovo didn't kit out the 2 Pro with this feature and it's a shame.</p> <p>The keyboard is backlit, though – handy in shady press conferences, we're sure – and it'll come as no surprise to find that the Yoga 2 Pro is thinner at 15.5mm and lighter at 1.39kg than the original. To be honest, at this size it's much of a muchness but we suppose every little helps. In our short play, we did find the Yoga 2 Pro to be as heavy as a regular laptop so we can't see too much movie-watching in bed happening. In stand mode in the kitchen, though? Plus the screen's very bright too, maxing out at 350 nits which is four times brighter than the old Yoga.</p> <p>We weren't able to load up any hi-res images or video to really see the difference – but viewing angles were decent for films with a friend and swiping through Live Tiles was responsive too.</p> </div> </div> </div> <div class="field field-type-filefield field-field-image"> <div class="field-label">Image #1:&nbsp;</div> <div class="field-items"> <div class="field-item odd"> <img class="imagefield imagefield-field_image" width="1200" height="900" title="Lenovo Yoga 2 Pro" alt="Lenovo Yoga 2 Pro" src="http://images.cdn.stuff.tv/sites/stuff.tv/files/lenovo-yoga-2-pro-hands-on-6.JPG?1378440331" /> </div> </div> </div> <div class="field field-type-filefield field-field-image-2"> <div class="field-label">Image #2:&nbsp;</div> <div class="field-items"> <div class="field-item odd"> <img class="imagefield imagefield-field_image_2" width="4000" height="3000" title="Lenovo Yoga 2 Pro" alt="Lenovo Yoga 2 Pro" src="http://images.cdn.stuff.tv/sites/stuff.tv/files/lenovo-yoga-2-pro-hands-on-4.JPG?1378440331" /> </div> </div> </div> <div class="field field-type-number-integer field-field-make-full-width"> <div class="field-label">Make full width:&nbsp;</div> <div class="field-items"> <div class="field-item odd"> Do not make full width </div> </div> </div> </fieldset> <fieldset class="content-multigroup-wrapper content-multigroup-2"><div class="field field-type-number-integer field-field-section-paginate"> <div class="field-label">Paginate on this section:&nbsp;</div> <div class="field-items"> <div class="field-item odd"> Don't paginate </div> </div> </div> <div class="field field-type-text field-field-title"> <div class="field-label">Title:&nbsp;</div> <div class="field-items"> <div class="field-item odd"> Screen Modes and OS tricks </div> </div> </div> <div class="field field-type-text field-field-body"> <div class="field-label">Body:&nbsp;</div> <div class="field-items"> <div class="field-item odd"> <p>No new screen modes then but Lenovo has thoughtfully added some rubber to the edge of the display to protect the Yoga 2 Pro when in tent mode. On the software side of things, Yoga Picks is also pretty nifty – it recognises what screen mode you are in and suggests apps to open though we did have a bit of trouble switching it to tent mode in our time with it.</p> <p>Voice control is now built in – a useful touch if swiping gets too tiring – so with Yoga Camera Man you can tell the Yoga 2 Pro to take a photo without any prodding. And with basic gesture controls you can swipe through recipes in the aforementioned Yoga Chef without getting chilli oil on that beautiful screen.</p> <p>We're looking forward to spending some more quality time with the 2 Pro back home. It will be launching this October for €1300 – which will probably equate to over £1000 – but we'll update Lenovo fans with UK pricing as and when we get confirmation.</p> </div> </div> </div> <div class="field field-type-filefield field-field-image"> <div class="field-label">Image #1:&nbsp;</div> <div class="field-items"> <div class="field-item odd"> <img class="imagefield imagefield-field_image" width="1200" height="900" title="Lenovo Yoga 2 Pro" alt="Lenovo Yoga 2 Pro" src="http://images.cdn.stuff.tv/sites/stuff.tv/files/lenovo-yoga-2-pro-hands-on-1.JPG?1378440331" /> </div> </div> </div> <div class="field field-type-filefield field-field-image-2"> <div class="field-label">Image #2:&nbsp;</div> <div class="field-items"> <div class="field-item odd"> <img class="imagefield imagefield-field_image_2" width="4000" height="3000" title="Lenovo Yoga 2 Pro" alt="Lenovo Yoga 2 Pro" src="http://images.cdn.stuff.tv/sites/stuff.tv/files/lenovo-yoga-2-pro-hands-on-2.JPG?1378440331" /> </div> </div> </div> <div class="field field-type-filefield field-field-image-3"> <div class="field-label">Image #3:&nbsp;</div> <div class="field-items"> <div class="field-item odd"> <img class="imagefield imagefield-field_image_3" width="1200" height="900" title="Lenovo Yoga 2 Pro" alt="Lenovo Yoga 2 Pro" src="http://images.cdn.stuff.tv/sites/stuff.tv/files/lenovo-yoga-2-pro-hands-on-3.JPG?1378440331" /> </div> </div> </div> <div class="field field-type-number-integer field-field-make-full-width"> <div class="field-label">Make full width:&nbsp;</div> <div class="field-items"> <div class="field-item odd"> Do not make full width </div> </div> </div> </fieldset> </fieldset> http://www.stuff.tv/lenovo/ifa-2013/hands-review-lenovo-yoga-2-pro/news#comments IFA 2013 Laptops Lenovo Yoga 2 Pro Thu, 05 Sep 2013 15:29:35 +0000 Sophie Charara 1426241 at http://www.stuff.tv
