Infocus says its new M530 is ‘The mother of all camera smartphones’

Front-facing flash, dual 13MP cameras, OIS and an f/1.8 aperture back up this boast

Slim and sleek phones are soooo last year, isn’t it? Looks like it’s time for the spotlight to shine on cameras and battery life. Suits us!

For all those of you wondering what phone makers would try next - after these past couple of

years spent obsessing on the slimness of their devices - the answer’s loud and clear. Yup, everyone’s now on the camera and battery life bandwagon, and you know what, we aren’t complaining.

InFocus, too, reckons that people are more worried about getting good quality snaps on vacation, and of course, would like to manage a day’s work without that ‘OMG, my phone’s dying’ feeling. So what they have for us are two new phones - the M530 and the M350 - which they say will deal with these modern-day existentialist crises.

The M350’s a 5in device with an HD resolution and a Mediatek processor. Yeah, it’s slim, all right - 3.5mm at its narrowest - but packs in a decent-sized battery (2500mAh) along with dual 8MP cameras. You also get 2GB RAM and 16GB of internal memory (expandable). Sadly though, the M350 still runs on Android KitKat.

But it’s the M530 that’s the more interesting of the two. A 5.5in device with an HD display, the M530 also runs on Android KitKat. Inside is Mediatek’s 6595 chip, 2GB RAM and 16GB storage (expandable). But there’s also a removable 3100mAh battery inside (phew!). And let’s not ignore the cameras - the 13MP front camera has an 80-degree viewing angle, perfect for those group selfies. And, wait for it... it’s also got a flash. A front-facing flash? Will wonders never cease? Those of you less vain might prefer to, er, ‘focus’ on the rear 13MP camera - f/1.8, dual colour flash and Optical Image Stabilisation mean pretty tasty specs all right.

The M350 will retail for ₹7999, and the M530 for ₹10,999. Both these phones will be available exclusively on Snapdeal.
