What could possibly beat watching a purpose-built racing machine whizz past at top speed? Riding one, of course. Except, and here’s the more important question, who’d really trust you with one? Italian video game developer Milestone’s latest screamer, MotoGP 15, promises to be a much safer proposition. One hundred-plus riders, 18 tracks, a new audio engine and tons more, all presented in eye- watering detail. And you don’t even have to get off the couch.

If you ever find yourself aboard a 1000RR thinking it isn’t racy enough, then it’s time to get your head checked. Honda , on the other hand, will tell you to get one of these: the CBR 1000 RR SP. Two lacs worth of added kit over the standard model include fully adjustable Öhlins front and rear suspension, Brembo front brakes and Pirelli Diablo Supercorsa SC premium tyres. You also get a special lightweight subframe and a new single-seat cowl to compensate for any ‘holiday weight’ you might be carrying around.
