IFA 2013: Today is Galaxy Note 3, Galaxy Gear and Honami Z1 day

German gadget expo IFA kicks off today, and so beginneth the flood of epic tech news.

First up will be the official announcement of Sony's Honami (or Xperia Z1 if you like) smartphone, followed swiftly by the launch of Samsung's heavily trailed Galaxy Note 3. Click here for the full rumour round-up on the Honami, and here for the Galaxy Note 3.

But the day's most intriguing event is likely to be the official unveiling of Samsung's Galaxy Gear smartwatch. If it sees light of day today, Samsung will steal a march on Apple's rumoured iWatch. For everything we know so far on this mysterious wristwear, head here.
