Google Nexus 7 for £60 anyone?

Google plans to undercut the Apple iPad Mini with a bargain-basement 7in Nexus 7 slate

Google is planning to launch a new version of the Nexus 7 tablet that will cost a mere £60, following Apple’s October 23rd iPad Mini announcement.

But how has Google slashed the Nexus 7's cost down from £160 to £60? According to DigiTimes Google has switched manufacturers to cheaper Quanta, thrown in an ARM single core chip, and added a less impressive HUVA TN display. All this means you get a a US$100 (£60) version of the 7in tablet still running Android Jelly Bean. A tempting offer that makes Apple’s £200 iPad Mini suddenly seem a lot more expensive.
