9 people who’d actually look OK wearing Google Glass

Think that nobody can pull off the Glass look? Think again – this collection of stars are crying out for some next-gen eyewear

Google Glass may pack in all sorts of exciting technology. Heck, it may even be the inevitable wave of the future. And yet… and yet… there's no denying that it makes people look incredibly goofy, so much so that it has spawned at least one mockery Tumblr. But it doesn't have to be that way: certain people might just be able to pull off rocking Sergey Brin's cybernetic brainchild. And here they are.

Dame Edna Everage

The legendary antipodean is no stranger to elaborate eyewear, or “face furniture” as she describes it – so replacing those cat eye glasses with Google Glass seems like an entirely logical step.

Kanye West

For the same reasons as Dame Edna. Plus we feel Yeezy would be very happy with Glass’s ability to show him constant news feeds… about himself.

Jean-Claude Van Damme

The Muscles from Brussels wearing the goggles from Google. There’s a nice ring to that, and Van Damme has previous with interactive one-eyed HUDs from his appearance in classic 90s violence-a-thon Universal Soldier.

Don Draper

Oh, you like advertising do you, Don? Well, now you can enjoy it being surreptitiously pumped into your eyeballs all day. If that doesn’t drive you to increase your bourbon and ciggies intake, we don’t know what will.

More after the break...

Beric Dondarrion from Game of Thrones

As a devout follower of the Lord of Light, Beric cannot be killed – so need not fear the inevitable collision with a King’s Landing horse and cart while distracted by Glass’s constant stream of stupid Facebook notifications. Wait... you do offer a left-eye version of Glass, right Google?

Scarlett Johansson

Already sports specs on occasion – and let’s face it, ScarJo would look "OK" in anything, be it Google Glass, Crocs or an orange Kappa shellsuit.

Archer

Google Glass fits snugly into the sort of technology commonly used by animated secret agent Sterling Archer, a well-known aficionado of slightly creepy surveillance gadgets.

Sir Patrick Moore

The late stargazer was famous for rocking a monocle, both in his normal guise and as disembodied Mortal Kombat cheat-giver GamesMaster. He would have made the perfect Google Glass evangelist.

Robert Scoble

And speaking of evangelists, what about portly Silicon Valley tech-fancier “The Scobilizer?” Well, just look at him… nah guys, don’t worry, we’re just kidding. We need to give our own eyes a shower and scrub after seeing this.
