God of War, the hugely popular third-person action-adventure game first seen on PS2, is heading for Hollywood.
The story of Spartan warrior Kratos, and his quest for vengeance against the god who killed his wife and child, will be penned by Patrick Melton and Marcus Dunstan – their previous efforts include the Saw sequels and Piranha 3DD, so at the very least it'll be appropriately gory. Here’s hoping they don’t cast Hollywood's go-to bald guys as Kratos: too-old Bruce Willis or too-Cockney Jason Statham.
Between this and the news that Michael Fassbender is set to star in an Assassin’s Creed film, it's a good time for video game adaptations. Now, maybe Microsoft will finally get that Halo film off the ground.
