Its launch date was up in the air for a while, but tomorrow, November 17 is the official launch date of Google's hugely anticipated Galaxy Nexus – although Amazon still has its launch date down as December 2. But on to more important things, like making the purchase. And Phones 4u is the first retailer in the world to dish out the Ice Cream Sandwich flavoured goods.
But it's not just a brand spanking new phone Galaxy Nexus hopefuls can look forward to. Phones 4u on Oxford Street is offering up a tasty incentive in the form of cinnamon swirls and other continental treats for eager early morning attendees, as well as tea and coffee to thaw you out after waiting in what is expected to be a lengthy queue.
But that's not all – the first 100 customers buying the Ice Cream Sandwich-toting Galaxy Nexus will receive a £250 voucher to spend on movies, music and other stuff to enjoy on their sexy new smartphones. What you'll really want to hold out for, though, are the ice cream sandwiches being handed out at 11am. Sounds delicious and could be worth queuing for that alone.
The Galaxy Nexus will be available on a variety of contracts, but if you want to buy the phone outright, you can bag one SIM-free for £550 – although you'll be able to get it a bit cheaper online, minus the chance of bagging £250 worth of goodies.
You'd better set that alarm, Phones 4u opens its doors at 8am.
