While on holiday cruising the streets of London in their Ecto-1 the Ghostbusters were unaware of our restrictive driving rules and have racked-up some serious congestion charge fees. But who are they gonna call to fix it? KenBuster, that’s who.
The new money-saving gadget (pictured) is designed to stop unwitting drivers (like our favourite ghoul bashers) from being hit with massive penalties for late payments on congestion charge fines.
The mobile-phone-sized device plugs into the cigarette lighter and uses GPS to detect when your jam jar enters a congestion zone. If it’s at a chargeable time of day it automatically makes the payment to Transport for London (TfL) from the account you’ve registered.
It’s available for a one off charge of £200 – or £50 for the unit plus an £8-a-month subscription – and every day you’ll receive a text telling you whether you’ve entered the congestion zone and whether you’ve been charged or not.
Apparently, right now, fines generate 30 per cent of TfL’s revenue, but with the KenBuster, we ain’t afraid of no C charge.
