Rovio announces Angry Birds Space

The irate avians head into orbit for another instalment of the fowl-flinging game

Rovio has announced Angry Birds Space, which looks to be the first full sequel. The game is set to be an entirely new entry in the series rather than a themed update, like recent releases Angry Birds Rio and Angry Birds Seasons.

So you can expect to see entirely new gameplay with “some surprises” – likely to include lunar-based gameplay with different physics to previous Angry Birds titles – and, of course, new birds to add to your arsenal.

Rovio’s remaining tight-beaked about game details but has released a teaser trailer with the line: “one small fling for a bird, one quantum leap for birdkind.” Angry Birds Space touches down on March 22nd.
