Lego Back to the Future DeLorean (£35)
Lego Back to the Future DeLorean
Lego's crowdsourced Cuusoo programme has come up with a brace of awesome new sets dreamt up by fans – and none is closer to our heart than the Back to the Future DeLorean.
It comes with Doc Brown and Marty McFly minifigures, spare parts so that you can recreate the time machine from each of the three films, and is simple enough for kids and adults alike to assemble. Great Scott!
Lego Moleskine notebook (£12)
Lego Moleskine notebook
"When I was a child, I spoke as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child; but when I became a man, I put away childish things." So sayeth the Good Book. There are some childish things you don't want to put away, though – this notebook may be for taking sensible minutes in business meetings, but it comes complete with a Lego plate embedded into the front cover, letting you customise it to your heart's content. A good book, indeed.
Lego Star Wars Ewok Village (£200)
Lego Star Wars Ewok Village
Star Wars fans gripe about Return of the Jedi's Ewoks, calling them childish inventions created only to sell toys. That's as maybe – but those toys are awesome.
Look at this gorgeous Ewok village, for example – complete with Ewok traps and catapults, speeder bikes, rope bridges and secret hidey-holes. You also get 15 minifigures, including Luke Skywalker, Han Solo, Princess Leia and a brace of the Emperor's finest Stormtroopers. You know, the ones who were beaten in open battle by a bunch of teddy bears armed with sticks.
Belkin Lego iPhone 5s Builder case (£25)
Belkin Lego iPhone 5s Builder case
This iPhone 5s case may look like it's entirely frivolous, wrapping Jony Ive's gorgeous smartphone design in a primary-coloured Lego brick. But scratch the surface and it's actually rather clever – you can construct your own iPhone stand, photo tripod or camera dolly on the back of your phone with Lego bricks. Or just turn it into a toy aeroplane.
