The 10 best flying games EVER
4. Red Baron 3D (1997)
Took us all the way back to WWI to enjoy battling at the controls of such early flying beasts as the Sopwith Pup and Camel, including a memorable and rather shocking feature that had the pilot slowly bleeding to death should an enemy bullet pierce the flimsy fuselage.
3. Pilotwings (1992)
Took the serious world of the flight sim and made it into an incredibly enjoyable game, switching 747s for hang gliders and tricky landings at international airports for crazy skydiving mini games. A sadly neglected and forgotten classic from Nintendo's golden era.
Star Wars: TIE Fighter (1994)
One of the few Star Wars games to get it right, TIE Fighter let us dogfight and strafe space stations, with the fighter's power increasing as new weapons were earned. All in a post-Empire Strikes Back universe, with the proper music and everything.
