We first got wind of Eye-Fi's new X2 wireless memory cards at CES, and now the company has confirmed they'll be making an appearance on British shelves next month.
Speed and capacity have been doubled in the new range, which is made up of the Pro X2, Explore X2 and Connect X2 cards.
The Pro X2 leads the pack with is 8GB capacity and the ability to upload both JPEG and RAW images wirelessly to a home computer or one of 25 social networking sites, complete with geotagging. It'll even allow you to create an ad hoc connection directly to your computer when out of range of a wireless router.
The Explore X2 and Connect X2 pack 8GB and 4GB capacities respectively, the latter offering solely the Wi-fi capability to upload photos on the go over a wireless connection, while the Connect provides the added feature of automatic geotagging of your photos.
All three benefit from Eye-Fi's Endless Memory feature as well, which will automatically make room on a full card once photos and videos have been safely uploaded, starting with the oldest. Handy stuff.
Available from retailers including Apple, Jessops and Amazon next month, the memory cards will cost £49.99 for the Connect X2, £99.99 for the Explore X2 and just a small premium of £20 to get the Pro X2 at £119.99.
