Nintendo's mega-screened DSi XL hits shelves today, and if you prefer your portable gaming on a slightly larger scale – the XL could be worth a peek.

Ninty's new handheld offers two 4.2-inch screens in place of the original DSi's 3.25-inch displays, packs up to three more hours battery life depending on your settings and comes in a choice of two colours – wine red and dark brown.

The stylus has also been given an XL upgrade, and is both longer (4mm to be exact) and fatter to make it easier to hold.

If you fancy giving the DSi XL a go, you can find it online for around £150 with no games, or Play.com are offering bundles with one game from around £165.

We played Mario Kart on the XL and fell a little bit in love with it. Check out our hands on video to see it in action, and let us know below if you'll be buying.
