The N20 will be out in July in the States for US$279, while the N20p hits in August for US$329.</p> <p class="p1">Asus is planning 13.3in C300 and 11.6in C200 Chromebooks for this year, while Acer will have its own Bay Trail-M model (which has yet to be detailed), as well.</p> <p class="p2">Google also mentioned that Toshiba has a 13in Chromebook incoming, along with the previously announced <a href="http://www.stuff.tv/chrome-os/fully-charged-hasselblad-s-indestructible-hv-camera-hp-unveils-its-chromebox-and-london-ho">HP Chromebox</a> and <a href="http://www.stuff.tv/chrome-os/fully-charged-chrome-comes-desktop-augmented-reality-shades-and/feature">LG Chromebase</a> (pictured)&mdash;the last of those being an all-in-one desktop due out on 26 May in the United States for US$349.99.</p> <p class="p1">While all feature modest specs and the divisive Chrome OS, the wider array of options and power-boosted models make the Chromebook seem all the more appealing to the entry-level notebook buyer. A <a href="http://en.community.dell.com/support-forums/laptop/f/3518/t/19512174.aspx?pi239031352=5">thread</a> in Dell’s community support forums (now over five pages long) features phrases including “tomcat’s litter box”, “gross smell”, “awful stench” and “it’s almost burning my eyes”, with Dell’s choice of chemicals apparently to blame. One user claims that he had his cat put down as a result of the odour, but we’re going to assume that’s just a spot of trolling.</p> <p>Dell has apologised for the issue and says it is working on a fix. Quite what form that fix will take remains to be seen. We reached out to Stuff Office Cat for comment, but he said only that he hadn’t been near any Dell laptops in years – he’s a Lenovo feline through and through. Dell reckons it'll last for around eight hours on a charge – not bad for a tablet running a full desktop OS.</p> <p>The Intel Bay Trail processor differs fundamentally from the <a href="http://www.stuff.tv/qualcomms-new-snapdragon-800-chip-brings-4k-video-smartphones/news">Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 chip</a> that is expected in Microsoft's Surface Mini (and which we'll be seeing seen in the <a href="http://www.stuff.tv/amazon/meet-kindle-fire-hdx-amazons-tablet-steroids/news">7in Kindle Fire HDX</a> very soon). It uses a 64-bit x86 architecture, allowing it to run all that classic Windows software and Steam games you already have. The Snapdragon, meanwhile, is a 32-bit ARM-based chip, which can only run the RT version of Windows 8.1 - and those classic desktop apps are a no-go. And the 128GB storage, expandable by SD, should be enough to negate any upgrade needs. It really does feel like a full PC crammed into a lithe tablet.</p><p>Dell's also ramped up the security on the Latitude 10, with Intel Platform Trust Technology, as well as features like encryption, remote wiping, an optional fingerprint reader and smart card reader. Not that we can test any of that here without our trusty hacking kit.
