Is it a jack-of-all-trades, or does it fall flat as a master of none? We had some hands-on time with the machine at Computex 2014 to try and find out if this machine&#39;s unconventional form could unlock a world of convenience.&nbsp;</p> <div class="field field-type-userreference field-field-byline"> <div class="field-label">Byline:&nbsp;</div> <div class="field-items"> <div class="field-item odd"> <a href="/users/elissa-loi" title="View user profile.">Elissa Loi</a> </div> </div> </div> <fieldset class="content-multigroup-group-sections"><fieldset class="content-multigroup-wrapper content-multigroup-0"><div class="field field-type-number-integer field-field-section-paginate"> <div class="field-label">Paginate on this section:&nbsp;</div> <div class="field-items"> <div class="field-item odd"> Don't paginate </div> </div> </div> <div class="field field-type-text field-field-title"> <div class="field-label">Title:&nbsp;</div> <div class="field-items"> <div class="field-item odd"> Many-in-one </div> </div> </div> <div class="field field-type-text field-field-body"> <div class="field-label">Body:&nbsp;</div> <div class="field-items"> <div class="field-item odd"> <p>Don&rsquo;t let the numbers confuse you. The Android-powered smartphone (unnamed as yet) slips neatly into the back of the Transformer Book V and brings up the Android home screen on your Windows-powered tablet screen. Take it full size and switch between operating systems as you fancy with a touch of the dedicated icon on the displays, or the button on your keyboard. Simple. There was no lag at all, but that might change if you load up the devices with content.</p> <p class="p1"><strong>READ MORE:&nbsp;<a href="http://www.stuff.tv/asus/asus-shows-haul-fresh-android-tablets/news">Asus shows off haul of fresh Android tablets</a></strong></p> </div> </div> </div> <div class="field field-type-hcmvideofield-video field-field-brightcove-video"> <div class="field-label">Video ID/URL:&nbsp;</div> <div class="field-items"> <div class="field-item odd"> <div class="messages warning">This video is not currently supported.</div> </div> </div> </div> <div class="field field-type-filefield field-field-image"> <div class="field-label">Image #1:&nbsp;</div> <div class="field-items"> <div class="field-item odd"> <img class="imagefield imagefield-field_image" width="567" height="425" title="Android in Windows" alt="Hands on with the multi-faceted Asus Transformer Book V" src="http://images.cdn.stuff.tv/sites/stuff.tv/files/android%20in%20windows.jpg?1401983331" /> </div> </div> </div> <div class="field field-type-filefield field-field-image-2"> <div class="field-label">Image #2:&nbsp;</div> <div class="field-items"> <div class="field-item odd"> <img class="imagefield imagefield-field_image_2" width="567" height="425" title="Hey, where&#039;d Android go?" alt="Hands on with the multi-faceted Asus Transformer Book V" src="http://images.cdn.stuff.tv/sites/stuff.tv/files/switch.jpg?1401983331" /> </div> </div> </div> <div class="field field-type-filefield field-field-image-3"> <div class="field-label">Image #3:&nbsp;</div> <div class="field-items"> <div class="field-item odd"> <img class="imagefield imagefield-field_image_3" width="567" height="425" title="One button to switch them all" alt="Hands on with the multi-faceted Asus Transformer Book V" src="http://images.cdn.stuff.tv/sites/stuff.tv/files/littleandroid.jpg?1401983331" /> </div> </div> </div> <div class="field field-type-number-integer field-field-make-full-width"> <div class="field-label">Make full width:&nbsp;</div> <div class="field-items"> <div class="field-item odd"> Do not make full width </div> </div> </div> </fieldset> <fieldset class="content-multigroup-wrapper content-multigroup-1"><div class="field field-type-number-integer field-field-section-paginate"> <div class="field-label">Paginate on this section:&nbsp;</div> <div class="field-items"> <div class="field-item odd"> Don't paginate </div> </div> </div> <div class="field field-type-text field-field-title"> <div class="field-label">Title:&nbsp;</div> <div class="field-items"> <div class="field-item odd"> So what? </div> </div> </div> <div class="field field-type-text field-field-body"> <div class="field-label">Body:&nbsp;</div> <div class="field-items"> <div class="field-item odd"> <p>Conveniences include discreet checking of your phone. When tablet and phone are joined and docked onto the keyboard, you only need to focus on one screen, instead of having to face up to the fact that you&#39;re obviously working as you constantly sneak peeks at your phone.</p> <p>Even when the phone&#39;s screen is minimised and you&#39;re checking your emails in laptop mode, if you receive a message a notification will pop up and you can reply directly from the mode you&#39;re in. Same goes for calls - slip the phone out and take your call somewhere a little more private or use the speakers on the tablet to answer your call directly in laptop mode.&nbsp;</p> <p>Another massive advantage as far as we can tell is the copious amounts of storage you get with this device. The smartphone contains up to 64GB storage, with a microSD slot to boost that by up to another 64GB. As for the tablet, it packs 128GB of storage, with the option of another 64GB via microSD, while the keyboard holds up to 1TB of memory, with a USB 3.0 and 2.0 slot to plug in your external hard drives. You don&#39;t even have to do the maths to know that you could store a decade&#39;s worth of movies in this massive-brained device.&nbsp;</p> <p>As for charging, it&#39;s also a 3-in-1 experience. Just plug the charging cable into the tablet and all the devices drink their fill at the same time. Also, there&#39;s the added bonus of the entire device leveraging on the phone&#39;s speedy LTE 4G abilities.</p> <p><strong>READ MORE:&nbsp;</strong><a href="http://www.stuff.tv/sg/computex-2014/asus-has-hand-its-new-transformer-book-v-and-zenbook-nx500-computex-2014/news">Asus new Transformer Book V and Zenbook NX500 unveiled</a></p> </div> </div> </div> <div class="field field-type-filefield field-field-image"> <div class="field-label">Image #1:&nbsp;</div> <div class="field-items"> <div class="field-item odd"> <img class="imagefield imagefield-field_image" width="567" height="425" title="Android and Windows identity crisis" alt="Hands on with the multi-faceted Asus Transformer Book V" src="http://images.cdn.stuff.tv/sites/stuff.tv/files/brains.jpg?1401983331" /> </div> </div> </div> <div class="field field-type-filefield field-field-image-2"> <div class="field-label">Image #2:&nbsp;</div> <div class="field-items"> <div class="field-item odd"> <img class="imagefield imagefield-field_image_2" width="567" height="425" title="Looks awfully similar to the PadFone" alt="Hands on with the multi-faceted Asus Transformer Book V" src="http://images.cdn.stuff.tv/sites/stuff.tv/files/brainss.jpg?1401983331" /> </div> </div> </div> <div class="field field-type-number-integer field-field-make-full-width"> <div class="field-label">Make full width:&nbsp;</div> <div class="field-items"> <div class="field-item odd"> Do not make full width </div> </div> </div> </fieldset> <fieldset class="content-multigroup-wrapper content-multigroup-2"><div class="field field-type-number-integer field-field-section-paginate"> <div class="field-label">Paginate on this section:&nbsp;</div> <div class="field-items"> <div class="field-item odd"> Don't paginate </div> </div> </div> <div class="field field-type-text field-field-title"> <div class="field-label">Title:&nbsp;</div> <div class="field-items"> <div class="field-item odd"> Solid plastic </div> </div> </div> <div class="field field-type-text field-field-body"> <div class="field-label">Body:&nbsp;</div> <div class="field-items"> <div class="field-item odd"> <p>The 12.5in Transformer Book V may be plastic, but it&#39;s solidly built and feels good in the hand.&nbsp;At 1.75kg, it&#39;s portable and somehow keeps its form factor slim. &nbsp;</p> <p>The tablet attaches magnetically to the keyboard with nary a wobble sideways and gives great viewing angles on its HD IPS display, even on the spotlit show floor. And the T100 is just about as close as it gets.</p> <p>A sturdy duo that&rsquo;s not too top-heavy on laps, the Transformer Book follows Asus&rsquo; tried-and-tested formula pretty closely. Unlike rivals, which balance tablets on docks or provide flimsy keyboard covers, the T100&rsquo;s build is tidy, solid and quick to dock or undock.</p> <p>The T100 slots right into its dock accessory with a satisfying click, and now that Asus has replaced the old slider (which could get stuck) with a big button, swapping between modes is fuss-free. When docked the T100&rsquo;s screen doesn&rsquo;t tilt back quite as much as we&rsquo;d like, but it&rsquo;s still a better set-up than the <a href="http://www.stuff.tv/microsoft/microsoft-surface-2/review" target="_blank">Surface 2&rsquo;s</a> awkward two-angled kickstand.</p> <p>This is hands-down the best typing experience on a tablet this size. Although the keyboard is inevitably more cramped than a regular laptop (to match the 10.1in screen&rsquo;s size), the keys themselves have good depth and fast typers will fly. The plastic keyboard dock (there&rsquo;s a soft touch panel on the bottom) means it&rsquo;s easy to rest your hands when typing, too - unlike the sometimes slippier <a href="http://www.stuff.tv/asus/asus-transformer-pad-infinity/review" target="_blank">Transformer Infinity</a>.</p> <p>The trackpad is responsive but as with almost every other Transformer tab it&rsquo;s a touch erratic, occasionally moving either too quickly or with a small delay. Thanks to the full-sized USB 3.0 port, adding a mouse is an option when a flat surface is available. It&rsquo;s located on the left edge making for a slightly messy set-up that could annoy right-handed mouse-wielders but having the option is a bit of a luxury all the same.</p> <p>We have only a couple of niggling isses with the T100&#39;s design. The use of plastic doesn&rsquo;t mean it&rsquo;s light - it&rsquo;s pushing the scales at 550g for the tab and a smidge over 1kg for the pair. Compared to the lighter, more premium<a href="http://www.stuff.tv/apple/apple-ipad-5/review" target="_blank"> iPad Air</a>, say, you&rsquo;ll feel the weight of the duo in your bag. That soft-touch back does seem to be a bit of a fingerprint magnet, but it&#39;s easily wiped clean.</p> <p>Asus has skinned the Zenfones with its own ZenUI interface &ndash; it&#39;s a stripped-back affair that goes for simplicity, with big, bold expanses of flat colour (matched to your phone hardware) and simple icons.&nbsp;</p> <p>It integrates reminders from your various apps into a single screen, letting you mark different items to follow up later &ndash; everything from calls to emails, tasks and even photos. It&#39;s clever, but at one point we got the dreaded &quot;unfortunately Calendar has stopped&quot; message, which is depressingly familiar to this <a href="http://www.stuff.tv/asus/asus-eee-pad-transformer-prime/review" target="_blank">Transformer Prime</a> owner &ndash; hopefully those intermittent crashes will be sorted out in the final release.</p> <p>Swiping and swooshing away on the Zenfones didn&#39;t seem to tax the Intel Atom processor overmuch, though we&#39;d want to experiment with some more demanding apps and games to see how it bears up.</p> <p>The camera app gets some some fun features; you can save a burst of shots as a gif, and there&#39;s a low-light mode that, according to Asus, will offer a 400 per cent improvement in brightness. Certainly a couple of snaps in the dim environs of the show looked reasonable enough, if a little grainy.</p> </div> </div> </div> <div class="field field-type-hcmvideofield-video field-field-brightcove-video"> <div class="field-label">Video ID/URL:&nbsp;</div> <div class="field-items"> <div class="field-item odd"> <div class="messages warning">This video is not currently supported.</div> </div> </div> </div> <div class="field field-type-filefield field-field-image"> <div class="field-label">Image #1:&nbsp;</div> <div class="field-items"> <div class="field-item odd"> <img class="imagefield imagefield-field_image" width="1200" height="900" title="Asus Zenfone" alt="Asus Zenfone" src="http://images.cdn.stuff.tv/sites/stuff.tv/files/asus-zenfone-02.jpg?1389415053" /> </div> </div> </div> <div class="field field-type-filefield field-field-image-2"> <div class="field-label">Image #2:&nbsp;</div> <div class="field-items"> <div class="field-item odd"> <img class="imagefield imagefield-field_image_2" width="1200" height="900" title="Asus Zenfone" alt="Asus Zenfone" src="http://images.cdn.stuff.tv/sites/stuff.tv/files/asus-zenfone-03.jpg?1389415053" /> </div> </div> </div> <div class="field field-type-filefield field-field-image-3"> <div class="field-label">Image #3:&nbsp;</div> <div class="field-items"> <div class="field-item odd"> <img class="imagefield imagefield-field_image_3" width="1200" height="900" title="Asus Zenfone" alt="Asus Zenfone" src="http://images.cdn.stuff.tv/sites/stuff.tv/files/asus-zenfone-04.jpg?1389415053" /> </div> </div> </div> <div class="field field-type-filefield field-field-image-4"> <div class="field-label">Image #4:&nbsp;</div> <div class="field-items"> <div class="field-item odd"> <img class="imagefield imagefield-field_image_4" width="1200" height="900" title="Asus Zenfone" alt="Asus Zenfone" src="http://images.cdn.stuff.tv/sites/stuff.tv/files/asus-zenfone-05.jpg?1389415053" /> </div> </div> </div> <div class="field field-type-number-integer field-field-make-full-width"> <div class="field-label">Make full width:&nbsp;</div> <div class="field-items"> <div class="field-item odd"> Do not make full width </div> </div> </div> </fieldset> <fieldset class="content-multigroup-wrapper content-multigroup-1"><div class="field field-type-number-integer field-field-section-paginate"> <div class="field-label">Paginate on this section:&nbsp;</div> <div class="field-items"> <div class="field-item odd"> Don't paginate </div> </div> </div> <div class="field field-type-text field-field-title"> <div class="field-label">Title:&nbsp;</div> <div class="field-items"> <div class="field-item odd"> Initial verdict </div> </div> </div> <div class="field field-type-text field-field-body"> <div class="field-label">Body:&nbsp;</div> <div class="field-items"> <div class="field-item odd"> <p>Make no mistake &ndash; these are budget smartphones, but the build quality and design are nice for the price.&nbsp;</p> <p>Of the three, the Zenfone 5 is the stand-out; the 4in version&#39;s low-res screen fails to impress, with limited viewing angles. Unlike the Transformer Pad Infinity, the plastic actually looks like it's a conscious design decision, rather than a hastily cobbled-together fix for the Transformer Prime's issues.&nbsp;</p> <p>Round the front, its 10.1 display is surrounded by a rather chunky bezel – especially when compared to the iPad Air's slender effort – and that makes the Transformer Pad look a little dated.</p> <p>Once again, Asus has shuffled the arrangement of the physical controls. The volume controls now sit on the back top-left and it's a more natural-feeling position for them.&nbsp;</p> <p>The array of micro-HDMI, microSD and 3.5mm headphone ports sit on the left hand side of the tablet - in the same location as on the Infinity, though the microphone has moved to the top left of the tablet. That's probably a good thing too as you're less likely to cover it up with your palm and muffle your words.&nbsp;</p> <p>Irritatingly, Asus has changed the proprietary charging port on the Transformer Pad – meaning you won’t be able to use the same cable if you’re an existing Transformer Infinity owner.&nbsp;</p> </div> </div> </div> <div class="field field-type-hcmvideofield-video field-field-brightcove-video"> <div class="field-label">Video ID/URL:&nbsp;</div> <div class="field-items"> <div class="field-item odd"> <div class="messages warning">This video is not currently supported.</div> </div> </div> </div> <div class="field field-type-filefield field-field-image"> <div class="field-label">Image #1:&nbsp;</div> <div class="field-items"> <div class="field-item odd"> <img class="imagefield imagefield-field_image" width="1200" height="900" title="Asus Transformer Pad TF701T" alt="Asus Transformer Pad TF701T" src="http://images.cdn.stuff.tv/sites/stuff.tv/files/DSCN9981.JPG?1383051445" /> </div> </div> </div> <div class="field field-type-filefield field-field-image-2"> <div class="field-label">Image #2:&nbsp;</div> <div class="field-items"> <div class="field-item odd"> <img class="imagefield imagefield-field_image_2" width="1200" height="900" title="Asus Transformer Pad TF701T" alt="Asus Transformer Pad TF701T" src="http://images.cdn.stuff.tv/sites/stuff.tv/files/DSCN9980.JPG?1383051445" /> </div> </div> </div> <div class="field field-type-number-integer field-field-make-full-width"> <div class="field-label">Make full width:&nbsp;</div> <div class="field-items"> <div class="field-item odd"> Do not make full width </div> </div> </div> </fieldset> <fieldset class="content-multigroup-wrapper content-multigroup-1"><div class="field field-type-number-integer field-field-section-paginate"> <div class="field-label">Paginate on this section:&nbsp;</div> <div class="field-items"> <div class="field-item odd"> Don't paginate </div> </div> </div> <div class="field field-type-text field-field-title"> <div class="field-label">Title:&nbsp;</div> <div class="field-items"> <div class="field-item odd"> DISPLAY: Big, bright and bold </div> </div> </div> <div class="field field-type-text field-field-body"> <div class="field-label">Body:&nbsp;</div> <div class="field-items"> <div class="field-item odd"> <p>The Transformer Pad sports a whopping 10.1in, 2560 x 1600 display, yielding up 299 ppi – that’s a higher pixel count and on a bigger screen size than the new iPad Air's 2048 x 1536 Retina display. Clever stuff.&nbsp;</p> <p>It’s impressive given that it packs the same amount of pixels as a high-end 30in montitor into a far smaller space – and next to the Transformer Pad Infinity, the Pad’s display veritably massages your peepers with scented oils.</p> <p>Text appears much sharper, while colour reproduction is close to that of the Infinity. As with the Prime and the Infinity, the display also has a super-bright mode for outdoor use, which is very handy for rendering text readable in direct sunlight.</p> <p>What you choose to view on the Transformer Pad's super hi-res screen is up to you. Low-res, non-optimised apps won't exactly benefit but Full HD movies and hi-res images will look beautiful as will e-books, though be warned the 16:9 screen is a bit awkward in portrait.&nbsp;</p> </div> </div> </div> <div class="field field-type-filefield field-field-image"> <div class="field-label">Image #1:&nbsp;</div> <div class="field-items"> <div class="field-item odd"> <img class="imagefield imagefield-field_image" width="1200" height="900" title="Asus Transformer Pad TF701T" alt="Asus Transformer Pad TF701T" src="http://images.cdn.stuff.tv/sites/stuff.tv/files/DSCN9991.JPG?1383051445" /> </div> </div> </div> <div class="field field-type-number-integer field-field-make-full-width"> <div class="field-label">Make full width:&nbsp;</div> <div class="field-items"> <div class="field-item odd"> Do not make full width </div> </div> </div> </fieldset> <fieldset class="content-multigroup-wrapper content-multigroup-2"><div class="field field-type-number-integer field-field-section-paginate"> <div class="field-label">Paginate on this section:&nbsp;</div> <div class="field-items"> <div class="field-item odd"> Don't paginate </div> </div> </div> <div class="field field-type-text field-field-title"> <div class="field-label">Title:&nbsp;</div> <div class="field-items"> <div class="field-item odd"> POWER: Tegra 4 keeps things ticking along </div> </div> </div> <div class="field field-type-text field-field-body"> <div class="field-label">Body:&nbsp;</div> <div class="field-items"> <div class="field-item odd"> <p>The Transformer Pad has received a substantial, not to mention very welcome spec boost over its predecessors.&nbsp;</p> <p>It crams in a quad-core Tegra 4 processor along with 2GB RAM, and although that's less than the 3GB found in the Galaxy Note 10.1, Nvidia's silicon keeps Android whizzing along with ease.</p> <p>This performance boost is a huge relief. The Transformer Prime and Infinity’s Tegra 3 processor always stumbled when dealing with processor-intensive tasks or even relatively simple ones like opening web pages.&nbsp;</p> <p>The Transformer Pad, by contrast, is a breeze to use, zipping through web pages, graphically-intensive games like Real Racing 3 and word processor apps without a hitch. This is the way it was meant to be and we’re glad that the Transformer series finally has the power it deserves.&nbsp;</p> </div> </div> </div> <div class="field field-type-number-integer field-field-make-full-width"> <div class="field-label">Make full width:&nbsp;</div> <div class="field-items"> <div class="field-item odd"> Do not make full width </div> </div> </div> </fieldset> <fieldset class="content-multigroup-wrapper content-multigroup-3"><div class="field field-type-number-integer field-field-section-paginate"> <div class="field-label">Paginate on this section:&nbsp;</div> <div class="field-items"> <div class="field-item odd"> Don't paginate </div> </div> </div> <div class="field field-type-text field-field-title"> <div class="field-label">Title:&nbsp;</div> <div class="field-items"> <div class="field-item odd"> Keyboard dock: Prepare for docking </div> </div> </div> <div class="field field-type-text field-field-body"> <div class="field-label">Body:&nbsp;</div> <div class="field-items"> <div class="field-item odd"> <p>The standout feature of the Transformer line is, of course, its keyboard dock, which comes complete with full-size SD card and USB 3.0 slots as well as a multi-touch trackpad. This time around it's been rendered in plastic – a cost-saving measure, which keeps the price of the tablet down to £430 (the Infinity launched at £600 for the 64GB model). The fact that it isn't available to pick up without the dock suggests that an affordable all-in price was clearly a priority for Asus.&nbsp;</p> <p>In some ways the plastic build is a shame – it means that the Transformer Pad is substantially bulkier than the Infinity, and the combination of the tablet’s metal body and plastic strip, and the plastic dock, make it feel slightly bitty. But the dock's finish matches up pretty well with the metal used on the tablet, and it's certainly more durable than the notoriously scratchable aluminium finish.&nbsp;</p> <p>Not only that, but we found that the plastic offered extra grip on our palms which slipped around less when typing over long periods of time compared to the old metal keyboard dock. And you can pretend you’re a DJ – running your nails along the bottom of the Pad’s plastic texture keyboard dock makes a pretty convincing vinyl scratching sound. Ahem.</p> <p>The hinge has a bit more give in it than that of the Infinity and feels a little too loose for our liking, though this might have been a conscious decision to make it easier to open. Still, it's not what we expect to see in a premium device and a stiffer hinge would be nice.</p> <p>However, the docked tablet is less top-heavy than the previous Transformer and it doesn’t feel like it’s going to tip over at the slightest provocation. Typing on a busy train carriage with the Transformer Pad on our laps was a more comfortable experience but one that needed the odd bit of hand support.&nbsp;As much fun as a game of 'will the expensive shiny thing tip over at the next stop?' sounds, we’d rather avoid our £430 tablet smashing into a commuter-trodden floor.&nbsp;</p> <p>We also found that we typed faster on the Tab than on the Infinity; there's less friction when moving your ball of your hand across the plastic dock than the metal one. Plus – and it's a small detail, this – the plastic is less chilly under the palms than the metal. Whether you prefer the plastic or the metal dock is going to come down to personal preference, but it’s certainly not a step down in build quality – just a different material.</p> </div> </div> </div> <div class="field field-type-filefield field-field-image"> <div class="field-label">Image #1:&nbsp;</div> <div class="field-items"> <div class="field-item odd"> <img class="imagefield imagefield-field_image" width="1200" height="900" title="Asus Transformer Pad TF701T" alt="Asus Transformer Pad TF701T" src="http://images.cdn.stuff.tv/sites/stuff.tv/files/DSCN9997.JPG?1383051445" /> </div> </div> </div> <div class="field field-type-filefield field-field-image-2"> <div class="field-label">Image #2:&nbsp;</div> <div class="field-items"> <div class="field-item odd"> <img class="imagefield imagefield-field_image_2" width="1200" height="900" title="Asus Transformer Pad TF701T" alt="Asus Transformer Pad TF701T" src="http://images.cdn.stuff.tv/sites/stuff.tv/files/DSCN9984.JPG?1383051445" /> </div> </div> </div> <div class="field field-type-number-integer field-field-make-full-width"> <div class="field-label">Make full width:&nbsp;</div> <div class="field-items"> <div class="field-item odd"> Do not make full width </div> </div> </div> </fieldset> <fieldset class="content-multigroup-wrapper content-multigroup-4"><div class="field field-type-number-integer field-field-section-paginate"> <div class="field-label">Paginate on this section:&nbsp;</div> <div class="field-items"> <div class="field-item odd"> Don't paginate </div> </div> </div> <div class="field field-type-text field-field-title"> <div class="field-label">Title:&nbsp;</div> <div class="field-items"> <div class="field-item odd"> CAMERA: Functional is the word </div> </div> </div> <div class="field field-type-text field-field-body"> <div class="field-label">Body:&nbsp;</div> <div class="field-items"> <div class="field-item odd"> <p>Asus’ tablets have never been known for their cameras, and the Pad is no exception. If you want a device for work as well as media consumption, the Transformer Pad can’t be beat; with USB 3.0, an array of productivity apps, full Word compatibility, a physical keyboard and a proper file and folder system, it’s a genuine laptop replacement. And its ridiculous battery life means you don’t have to worry about taking it on long trips, either.&nbsp;</p> <p>Once you’re done with work, it’s plenty powerful enough, and just about portable enough, to go toe-to-toe with the top tier of Android tabs as a gaming and media device, too.&nbsp;</p> <p>If you can get past its large bezels and slightly hefty weight and are looking for a tablet for work as much as play, then you can’t go wrong with Asus’ best hybrid yet.</p> </div> </div> </div> <div class="field field-type-number-integer field-field-make-full-width"> <div class="field-label">Make full width:&nbsp;</div> <div class="field-items"> <div class="field-item odd"> Do not make full width </div> </div> </div> </fieldset> </fieldset> <fieldset class="content-multigroup-group-review-rating"><legend>Review Rating</legend><fieldset class="content-multigroup-wrapper content-multigroup-0"><div class="field field-type-content-taxonomy field-field-review-type"> <div class="field-label">Type:&nbsp;</div> <div class="field-items"> <div class="field-item odd"> power </div> </div> </div> <div class="field field-type-number-integer field-field-review-score"> <div class="field-label">Score:&nbsp;</div> <div class="field-items"> <div class="field-item odd"> 9 </div> </div> </div> </fieldset> <fieldset class="content-multigroup-wrapper content-multigroup-1"><div class="field field-type-content-taxonomy field-field-review-type"> <div class="field-label">Type:&nbsp;</div> <div class="field-items"> <div class="field-item odd"> screen </div> </div> </div> <div class="field field-type-number-integer field-field-review-score"> <div class="field-label">Score:&nbsp;</div> <div class="field-items"> <div class="field-item odd"> 9 </div> </div> </div> </fieldset> <fieldset class="content-multigroup-wrapper content-multigroup-2"><div class="field field-type-content-taxonomy field-field-review-type"> <div class="field-label">Type:&nbsp;</div> <div class="field-items"> <div class="field-item odd"> build </div> </div> </div> <div class="field field-type-number-integer field-field-review-score"> <div class="field-label">Score:&nbsp;</div> <div class="field-items"> <div class="field-item odd"> 8 </div> </div> </div> </fieldset> <fieldset class="content-multigroup-wrapper content-multigroup-3"><div class="field field-type-content-taxonomy field-field-review-type"> <div class="field-label">Type:&nbsp;</div> <div class="field-items"> <div class="field-item odd"> apps </div> </div> </div> <div class="field field-type-number-integer field-field-review-score"> <div class="field-label">Score:&nbsp;</div> <div class="field-items"> <div class="field-item odd"> 7 </div> </div> </div> </fieldset> </fieldset> <div class="field field-type-text field-field-verdict"> <div class="field-label">Verdict:&nbsp;</div> <div class="field-items"> <div class="field-item odd"> <p>Its beastly battery life, full keyboard, proper ports and an amazing display make the Transformer Pad a lot smarter than your average tablet</p> </div> </div> </div> <div class="field field-type-number-integer field-field-preview"> <div class="field-label">Preview:&nbsp;</div> <div class="field-items"> <div class="field-item odd"> Disabled </div> </div> </div> <fieldset class="content-multigroup-group-carousel-item"><legend>Carousel Extras</legend><fieldset class="content-multigroup-wrapper content-multigroup-0"><div class="field field-type-text field-field-carousel-item-title"> <div class="field-label">Carousel item title:&nbsp;</div> <div class="field-items"> <div class="field-item odd"> Asus Transformer Pad TF701T review: &quot;Asus’ best hybrid yet&quot; </div> </div> </div> <div class="field field-type-text field-field-carousel-item-standfirst"> <div class="field-label">Carousel item standfirst:&nbsp;</div> <div class="field-items"> <div class="field-item odd"> Asus&#039; new Pad packs Tegra 4 power and a 2560 x 1600 display </div> </div> </div> </fieldset> </fieldset> <p><a href="http://www.stuff.tv/asus/asus-transformer-pad-tf701t/review" target="_blank">read more</a></p> http://www.stuff.tv/asus/asus-transformer-pad-tf701t/review#comments Asus Tablets Transformer Pad TF701T Fri, 25 Oct 2013 19:30:20 +0000 1428403 at http://www.stuff.tv New Google Nexus 10 leak puts Asus in the 10in driving seat http://www.stuff.tv/asus/new-google-nexus-10-leak-puts-asus-10in-driving-seat/news <div class="field field-type-text field-field-standfirst"> <div class="field-items"> <div class="field-item odd"> Samsung&#039;s been ousted from the Nexus party, making Asus the big man on the Google campus.
