Asus Transformer Pad 300 gets Android 4.1 Jelly Bean update

Asus gives its budget Transformer Pad a taste of Jelly Bean goodness – but Prime and Infinity owners will have to be patient

Asus has rolled out the first Android 4.1 Jelly Bean update to its Transformer line of Android tablets – and it's the plastic fantastic Transformer Pad 300 that's first in line for a taste of Jelly Bean goodness.

The update is rolling out to Transformer Pad 300 owners in North America (but not Canada) – so it's surely only a matter of time before it goes global. That means 300 owners will soon be revelling in the wonders of Google Now, new notification features and Project Butter. For all the info on what Jelly Bean will bring, check out our need to know.

Asus has previously confirmed that all its tablets will get an update to Android 4.1 Jelly Bean – so owners of the Transformer Prime and Transformer Pad Infinity shouldn't have too long to wait.
