The iPhone 6 will come in 24-carat gold, pink gold and platinum

But don't worry: Jony Ive hasn't lost his marbles – we're talking about a third-party luxury "upgrade"

The Apple iPhone 6 hasn't even been announced yet, but US-based luxury accessory maker Brikk has made the highly anticipated smartphone available for pre-order in a trio of extravagant finishes: pink gold; 24ct gold; and platinum.

And if the finishes aren't sufficiently blingy enough for your tastes, Brikk will also adorn the Apple logo of the gold or platinum units with a carat (colour D and clarity VVS1 if you must know) of diamonds. A display of class and design that Jony Ive and co can only dream of possessing, we're sure you agree.

The range, dubbed the Lux iPhone 6, will come in a 4.7in size with 128GB of memory (Brikk are obviously betting on this rumoured configuration turning out to be a real thing) and will be available "three to four weeks" after the iPhone 6's official launch, which is expected to happen in mid-September.

A preview of what's coming?

Going by Brikk’s images, they believe the iPhone 6 will match up to speculation about its design and screen size.

But of course, luxury comes at a hefty price: be prepared to fork out from US$4,495 (£2,655) for the plated versions, while the plated diamond logo models cost US$8,395 (£4,960). For now, a US$500 (£295) deposit gets you in line for the pimped-out model.

For those of you who feel a real 24ct gold iPhone is a bit OTT, rumours indicate that there could be a gold-coloured version of the device, just like its iPhone 5s predecessor. And of course, that one won’t cost you an absolute arm and a leg like the Lux iPhone 6 range.
