Apple has just ripped the covers off their new MacBook Pro. The new top-end notebook, which matches the spy shots we copped a look at last month, packs in a new glass multitouch trackpad, NVIDIA graphics and is built using the new "Brick" technique talked up all over the web.

Also known as an "aluminium unibody enclosure" (hum), it comes with a backlit keyboard, iSight camera, sudden motion sensor and all connectors shoved on one side.

NVIDIA's GeForce 9400M and 9600M come under the hood, which Jobs claims will make graphics six times faster. Handy if you're of the design and film editing persuasion.

USB fans will be pleased they haven't gone all MacBook Air on us, offering two inputs along with an optical drive, Firewire, mini display port and a battery indicator down the side. Wireless n and Bluetooth are also on board.

There'll also be SSD versions, as well as HDD models, so punters who fancy pricey but safer storage are welcome here. The £1,399, 15.4in model will come with 2.4Ghz Core 2 Duo and 2GB of RAM, with a pricier £1,749 model rocking 4GB RAM and a 320GB hard drive.
