Google Nexus 5 spotted in a close-up photo

Wanted to get a better look at the Google Nexus 5 ahead of its official reveal? You're in luck

A close up photo of the LG-made Google Nexus 5 has appeared on the MacRumours forum, showing off the long-awaited Android flagship's rear.

The rear of the Nexus 5 matches up with previous shots of the device, including a photo in which the handset is being used by a Google employee to snap a photo of the new Android 4.4 KitKat statue on the Google campus.

Resembling the Nexus 7 with what appears to be a soft-touch back and large circular camera housing, the photo looks genuine enough to us, meaning fans of the Nexus 4's glittery glass backside will be left feeling a little disappointed. Still, it'll mean less cracks and smashes after accidental pavement drops, which is a plus.

The member who posted the shot of the Nexus 5 described it as having thin bezels while being smaller than an LG G2, although they preferred the Galaxy Note 3's screen in comparison.

The Nexus 5 is expected to be unveiled on 14 October, the day before the HTC One Max and Apple iPad events, in what's shaping up to be a very busy week in the tech world.

Yeah they're not the best looking devices out there, but they are cheap, and for people who can't afford the premium build of an iPhone or HTC but still want flagship level performance, the nexus fills that gap perfectly.

C'mon Google! is it realy that hard these days to employ somene responsible for design? How many more of these ugly devices you will create before you realize how important good design is?
