Motorola MOTOACTV gets December 1 due date

Motorola's fitness device arrives in time to battle the Christmas paunch

With less than a month to go until turkey day, we appreciate that lard-bucket paranoia is starting to kick in. Luckily, Motorola's MOTOACTV GPS-toting, mini touchscreen MP3 player/FM radio is due to arrive on December 1, helping you synergise your fitness drive and gadget habit, and more importantly, ward off that Christmas paunch.

So, the MOTOACTV is a digital personal trainer and DJ, combining fitness, music and Android into a dinky wrist-strappable device. With 8GB of storage, you'll be able to create plenty of energy-inspiring playlists, while an on-board fitness tracker monitors whether you're working hard or hardly working.

If you fancy yourself as a bit of a power user, you might want to take advantage of the MOTOACTV's ability to analyse which tracks push you to run hell for leather on that treadmill, which then goes on to create the ultimate workout playlist so you're (in theory) inspired to give only the very best performance.

Using the built-in GPS, you can track your routes, time and distance alongside other recorded information, and if you're the sharing type, you can bore your friends with your fat-busting personal bests across your favourite social networks. Find out what we made of Motorola's MOTOACTV in our hands on review.

Available as of December 1 from Sweatshop, the 8GB MOTOACTV will set you back £250. Shelling out an additional £40 bags you the armband, bike mount and wall charger for those who want to inject a bit of versatility into their workout regime.
