Ofcom has announced that superfast 4G networks could be delayed due to legal and technical issues. The auction of the 4G spectrum, which decides how the newly available bandwidth is to be divvied up, was set for the first half of 2012 but looks likely to be pushed back.
Our friends in Germany, the US and Japan are already enjoying 4G, so it's pretty upsetting that it's not here yet. Speaking to the FT, Ofcom adds that 4G won't roll out until 2013 at the earliest, regardless of when the auction takes place.
With exciting new phones like the HTC Kingdom on the horizon, it's enough to make us emigrate to somewhere better equipped.
